SUNDOWN, Texas (KCBD) - The 2AD2 Softball State Champion Sundown Roughettes are the Extra Innings Team of the Week. They defeated reigning 2A State Champions Shiner, 9-3 on Thursday to win the title for the first time in school history. LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Ropes Eagles are the Extra Innings Team of the Week and are Area Champs after sweeping West Texas (11-1, 3-0). Cutter Stumbo recorded a no-hitter in the game one win and then Kade Franklin had 10 strikeouts on the mound in the game two win. LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Denver City Mustangs are the Extra Innings Team of the Week!District champions for the 4th season in a row after defeating Brownfield 7-0 on Tuesday and will now wait for the Bi-District Round. This is also the first season for Robert Arreola at the helm who comes over from Lovington and Roswell. The Mustangs will either face Kermit, Alpine or Presidio in the first round. LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Lubbock Christian Lady Eagles are the Extra Innings Team of the Week!They beat both Lockney (11-1) and Ira (13-0) and swept the district with a perfect 8-0 record and are district champions. The team also generated a unique stat where every player in the lineup for the Lady Eagles has hit a home run at some point this season. The team has also crushed the single-season home run record of 15.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The No. 10 New Home Leopards are the Extra Innings Team of the Week after sweeping Tahoka (6-5, 21-6) and defeating No. 5 Ropes on Saturday 3-1. The Leopards are 18-4-1 on the season, 11-0 in district play and are amidst a 13-game winning streak. Lubbock Christian High School wins Henderson Cup for 2nd year in a row

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - For the 5th time in their history and the 2nd year in a row, the Henderson Cup will reside at Lubbock Christian High School, home of the Eagles!The cup is given to the TAPPS School that accumulated the most points by competing in athletics, academics and fine arts at the State level. Lubbock Christian School accumulated 88 total points with the runner up in Rosehill Christian School at 76.5 points.
Former Monterey Baseball Coach still giving back to the game

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - After 33 years coaching baseball with 13 of those recently with the Monterey Plainsmen, Kent Meador has lived the retired life for two years now. After having issues with his back and eventually his knee, Coach Meador was basically forced into the retired scene. SEMINOLE, Texas (KCBD) - The Seminole Indians are the Extra Innings Team of the Week after sweeping Canyon Randall (5-4 (10), 5-2) in the Region Quarterfinal. Breaking a 19-game win streak for Randall, the Indians continue to play their best baseball, with only four seniors. Seminole is trying to get back to State for the first time since 1962, next on their list in the Region Semifinal is Stephenville who finished off a sweep over Krum 3-1 and 12-0.
