    SMOOT, WV (WVNS) – Smoot Elementary celebrated Teacher’s Appreciation Week in a Wicked Way. The days were filled with competitions to show off who would take home the great wizard’s favor. Principal Molly Judy organized The Wicked themed contest throughout the week. Teachers and staff participated in a singing competition, a ‘toss toss’ hair flip contest and a spellbook puzzle just to name a few. Team members from Team Elphaba, Team Flying Monkeys, and Team Glinda say the score was neck and neck.

    QUINWOOD, WV (WVNS) – The family and friends of AJ Sloan now have the location of their beloved family member. 40-year-old Audie Carl “AJ” Sloan Junior had been missing from Crichton since the night of November 26, 2024. According to Kenny Jarels, the President of The AWARE Foundation, Sloan was found deceased. We are deeply saddened to share the devastating news that AJ has been found deceased. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his loved ones.

    PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — A new treatment is available at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital for people dealing with arthritis pain. According to a press release, External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT), a non-invasive, low-dose radiation treatment meant for for patients that medications, injections, or physical therapy did not help with, is now offered at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) to help people living with the pain of arthritis.
