    When Anne Drehfal sets out to create one of her colossal landscape art pieces, she knows the odds are against her. Few will ever see it, and shortly it will be just a memory. That was certainly the case with a 150-foot snow labyrinth Drehfal created in Olin Park last week. Just a day after carving it out with snowshoes, the intricate pattern of swirls, petals and hearts was buried under 4 inches of fresh snow. Drehfal doesn’t mind the temporary nature of her creations.

The errant mailing — and a subsequent flap over whether the ballots or the ballot envelopes carry unique barcodes — could factor into any post-election legal challenges if the election is decided by a narrow margin, as it almost certainly will be.
