She was born on August 11, 1959, in Elizabeth, West Virginia, to Eli Justine and Mary Mildred Sims. Liz attended Wirt County High School and Mountain State Community College. She was retired after a life filled with many different types of occupations. She was the dedicated wife to Wayne, with whom she shared 21 wonderful years.

Kestermier Barrett. Charles is survived by his daughter Cheryl Wells (Chris), granddaughters Morgan and Elizabeth Wells and a sister Susanne Scheid. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Steve, a daughter Kimberly Ann Barrett, brothers David, Jim and Tom and a sister Marita Oxender.

Jerry was a devoted husband to his wife of many years, Lisa Bower. He was a loving and proud father to his children: Vince Bower (Mindi) of Williamstown, Jerry Patrick “Pat” Bower of Parkersburg, Jana Howell (Chad Foster) of Parkersburg, and Leah Wagoner (Martin) of Parkersburg and all of whom survive him.

Daniel William McVey, 58, of Parkersburg passed away Monday, April 14, 2025 at home. He was born July 26, 1966 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Neal J. and Clara D. Adams McVey. He was a former employee of Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority. He enjoyed collecting model cars, watching wrestling, football, and spending time with his family. Daniel didn’t know a stranger. He was a great friend, a proud dad, and grandpa.
Five people found dead in Gallia County home

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - An investigation is underway after five people were found dead in a home in Gallia County, Ohio. According to a Facebook post from Sheriff Matt Champlin, Gallia County 911 received a call about five unresponsive people in a home on State Route 7 South in Clay Township. The call was made at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday, April 15. Law enforcement officials found the individuals in the residence when they arrived on scene. Champlin says he does not suspect foul play.

June graduated from Marietta High School in 1949 and worked at Schwendeman Ins. Agency and retired from the Washington County OSU Extension Service after 24 years. June loved to work in her yard, reading, knitting hats for Coats for Kids and volunteering at Marietta Memorial Hospital, 55 Plus and Hospice.
