Searchers are expected to return to Yellowstone National Park this summer to look for missing Winonan Austin King. The 22-year-old was reported missing after he never arrived for a boat pickup Sept. 20, according to the Billings Gazette. The last time he was known to have spoken with someone was Sept. 17, when he called his mother from the top of Eagle Peak, the highest mountain in the park. The National Park Service searched 11 days for King, before the rescue turned into a recovery effort Oct. 2.

More than $100,000 was raised for cancer research April 5 during this year's Fools Five Road Race and its auction April 4. More than 1,300 participants joined the race, an increase from the previous year when 1,277 people took to the streets of Lewiston. More than $2.7 million has been raised through the annual events over the years since the Fools Five started in 1979.

A new generation of educators is pursuing a career in teaching, and Winona State University is working to help fill a teacher shortage that is felt in Winona and beyond. Some of the ongoing shortages in the nation's K-12 workforce were expected based on demographic changes, while others were made more severe by factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Winona State University College of Education Dean Scott Sorvaag.

"He's very motivated to do it."Each perfect run also provides Addison with an adrenaline rush. "It feels amazing," she said. Addison and Cooper are a dream team and have found success in the dog agility sport. The duo have taken on course after course together since the start of the pandemic.
