Clear out medicine cabinets for National Drug Take Back Day April 26

MICHIGAN (WPUB/WJMN) — If you need to clean out your medicine cabinet, you can do so on Saturday, April 26. That's National Drug Take Back Day. Michigan State Police is once again taking part in a national initiative that encourages residents to dispose of expired, unused and unwanted prescription pills. You can drop off items at any MSP post that day from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.All collected pills will be destroyed; no questions asked. Liquids, inhalers, patches and syringes will not be accepted.

People across the Upper Peninsula are encouraged to participate in a logo contest for the event. The winner of the contest receives a $100 visa gift card and tickets to a GLRC benefit concert. LUCE COUNTY, Mich. (WBUP/WJMN) —The Luce County Sheriff's Office has taken to Facebook to want people of an inheritance scam. In a Facebook post, the sheriff's office says a letter is being ailed from Canada to Upper Peninsula residents. They as people who receive this to not email, call or contact the scammers. If you receive this letter, you can report it online at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Starting a Dead River Coffee, participants received a punch card to hop around to 11 different spots and around the area and enjoy a fresh cup of joe. "We are just so excited and so honored that we get to be a part of this," said McKenzie Jackson, Coffee Crawl Coordinator.

This is a free event for expecting moms or moms with babies 6 months and younger that live in Marquette County. They can receive free necessities like diapers, clothes and bottles.
