MICHIGAN (WPUB/WJMN) — If you need to clean out your medicine cabinet, you can do so on Saturday, April 26. That's National Drug Take Back Day. Michigan State Police is once again taking part in a national initiative that encourages residents to dispose of expired, unused and unwanted prescription pills. You can drop off items at any MSP post that day from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.All collected pills will be destroyed; no questions asked. Liquids, inhalers, patches and syringes will not be accepted.

UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. (WBUP/WJMN) — Great Lakes Recovery Centers is gearing up for the 18th annual Run for Recovery in September. The run takes place in Marquette, L'Anse and Sault Ste. Marie. People across the Upper Peninsula are encouraged to participate in a logo contest for the event. The winner of the contest receives a $100 visa gift card and tickets to a GLRC benefit concert.
