The Onslow County School Board meeting on Tuesday left us with more questions than answers surrounding school safety in the county. Yesterday, we began reaching out to Central Services for Onslow County Schools, asking for clarification on what was being done to improve school security in the county better. Today, we heard back from them, including two board members who are raising red flags.

We're nearing the end of official beach season and many businesses across the Crystal Coast have been packed this Labor Day weekend, which they say is a great way to end a record year. When Tropical Storm Idalia hit, it made some beachfront businesses nervous about the impact it would have on Labor Day weekend sales. Richard Porter, The Tackle Box Manager said, "I didn't feel like it was going to cause any damage or have some long-term weather impact to us.
