A former Glenwood cemetery employee was charged with multiple felonies after allegedly pocketing more than $110,000 in cash from families paying for funeral expenses, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office announced Saturday. Latrecia Marshall-Parris, 48, of Harvey, was charged April 17 with theft and continuing a financial crime enterprise, the sheriff’s office said. She made an initial court appearance Friday at the Markham Courthouse, and was ordered released from custody pending trial.

Three teenagers were shot, with one in critical condition, during an argument Friday night in a home’s front yard in the Austin neighborhood, according to Chicago police. Officers responded to a call for service around 11:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of W. West End Avenue for reports of three victims struck by gunfire, police said. A preliminary investigation indicates that a man pulled out a gun during a verbal altercation and shot the three teens before he fled in a black SUV, police said.

Two people were injured after they were attacked and stabbed inside a South Deering neighborhood restaurant early Saturday morning, according to Chicago police. Officers responded to reports of a stabbing around 12:33 a.m. in the 2000 block of East 95th Street, police said. Two women armed with a sharp object attacked a 22-year-old man and 30-year-old woman inside a restaurant, police said. The male victim sustained a laceration to his chin and refused emergency services.

One person is dead and another injured after a Chevy SUV crashed into the Peninsula hotel in the Streeterville neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to Chicago police. A man, whose age and identity is currently unknown, and a 40-year-old man in the SUV traveling eastbound on Superior Street lost control and struck the building in the 100 block of East Superior Street around 2:42 a.m., police said. The 40-year-old man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
