SHELL LAKE — A rezone and amendatory ordinance for property on Big Sand Lake in Minong that had failed at a previous Washburn County Board meeting was brought back on Tuesday, June 17, and was approved this time. The William Jacott Trust of Roseville, Minn., had requested this rezone. The property was zoned Residential Recreational (RR) 2, and the Jacott family was looking for a rezone of 16.25 acres to RR1 to create parcels to reshape the property to sell more land.

SHELL LAKE - The rainy weather on Friday, July 13, moved the Washburn County Relay for Life indoors, but that did not stop around 100 people from showing up in the fight against cancer. The 27th-annual Relay was originally set to be held at its usual site, Shell Lake Memorial Park, as a glow run/walk 5K. However, due to the rain, the Shell Lake School let the event be moved there, and the energy was high Friday night. kAm#6=2J r@\r92:C $E6G6 r=2J D2:5 E9:D :D E96 c_E9 J62C @7 E96 p>6C:42?
