She walked around the event Wednesday, May 7, leaving a trail of sticky notes for fellow students. “You have an eye for design,” she wrote next to a drawing of an eye. Anyone could leave a note with praise. Many did. The small slices of anonymous encouragement have been a staple of the Spartan Fiesta as long as Proctor can remember.

    TOWN OF MAPLE — A small chick escaped and is now a store mascot. Olive, a 2-week-old olive egger chick, is the star of Facebook posts for Maple Hill Feed & Farm. She has a permanent home at the store, thanks to her ability to hide and make friends. Olive arrived at the Maple feed store with approximately 499 other chicks for the annual Chick Day sale Saturday, May 3. Owners Dawn and Dan Massier posted photos of bins of fluffy chicks leading up to the event.
