WRAL traveled the world leading up to and during Pope Francis’ time as the Catholic leader. Former WRAL anchor David Crabtree was at the Vatican when Francis was named the next Pope. It’s practically a golden rule among North Carolinians: barbecue is a noun, not a verb. At Prime Barbecue in Knightdale, a sign inside the restaurant proudly proclaims that “BBQ is not a sauce.” Instead, barbecue is a way of life and the best food to eat, according to Prime owner and champion pitmaster Christopher Prieto. Preeti Waas' journey from stay-at-home mom to James Beard-nominated chef started with a simple desire. "I just like to cook and I like to feed people," Waas said. I didn't think I was a good cook of Indian cuisine," Waas said. Waas was busy raising her two daughters while her husband navigated his demanding job in California and Oklahoma.
