Mayor Eric Adams announced a major step for fire safety to protect New Yorkers from e-bikes and scooters that use lithium-ion batteries. Authorities say a 24-year-old man remains in police custody in connection to the stabbings of four people inside of a Bensonhurst apartment Friday. According to police, 56-year-old Fayzieva Mavlyuda, 27-year-old Maftuna Khakimova, 5-year-old Kamila Shavkatova and 4-year-old Timur Shavkatov, were found with multiple stab wounds in their home. Neighbors say the victims were kind and friendly and their children would always play with neighbors.
