    KENNEWICK, Wash. – A senior dog missing for three years across the country has finally made it home thanks to a viral post from Tri-Cities Animal Services. Tri-Cities Animal Services said that on December 13, 2024, Kennewick Police Department had jailed a man who had two small dogs in his car. Tri-Cities Animal Services took both the dogs in, and while one of them found a home quickly, the other, an 8.5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix they named “Old-Timer,” never had anyone come looking for him.

    EUGENE, Ore. – The woman accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Eugene Weekly, a local newspaper, is no longer in police custody after Oregon Governor Tina Kotek’s office declined to pay for her extradition from Ohio. The Eugene Weekly reported earlier in May that Elisha Young, 38, was arrested in Whitehall, Ohio after a traffic stop. She was wanted in Lane County on five felony charges, accused of embezzling money while working as the Eugene Weekly’s business manager.

    CORVALLIS, Ore. – Benton County deputies said they have made an arrest related to a shooting on May 17 that injured one man, and they are looking for another suspect. According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:30 a.m. on May 19, a 911 caller reported a man had been shot in a car. BCSO officials described the suspected shooter as a short Hispanic female with long hair who was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt.

    LINN COUNTY, Ore. – A man is in jail on drug possession charges after a police dog helped find a large amount of powdered fentanyl in his trunk during a traffic stop, according to Oregon State Police. According to Oregon State Police, at about 2 p.m. on May 20, troopers stopped a white Chevrolet Impala on Interstate 5 in Linn County for an unlawful lane change. Troopers said that during the stop, they recognized signs of drug activity and got permission to search the car.
