RIVERSIDE — Chris Johns got out of coaching more than a decade ago, but that hasn’t stopped him and a regular band of coaches from showing up for a week each June for his Silverlake Soccer Camp in Riverside. The youth soccer camp turns 20 this year. It still welcomes back veteran high school coaches Ben Kettlewell, who has led Lewisburg boys to state titles, and former Milton coach Jeff Bower. Some players who attended the camp as kindergarteners during the camp's infancy are back as coaches.

SHAMOKIN DAM — Sometimes a civil engineer's job is to replicate what happens naturally. That was certainly the case with the new fish passage at the Shikellamy State Park, which was officially dedicated Wednesday morning. The $3.3 million, 900-foot-long passage allows aquatic life to go around the nearby Adam T. Bower Fabridam when fully inflated, transforming the Susquehanna River into Lake Augusta.
