A couple hundred people attended an hourlong vigil May 30 for Matthew Schultz in Witwer Park across the street from the North Canton Middle School, which he attended. Matthew's teachers and family friends shared their memories of Matthew whom they said had an amazing heart and love for his family and friends. In honor of Matthew's love of Star Wars, many attendees wore Star Wars clothing and Star Wars costumes.

PLAIN TWP. − A section of Diamond Street NE will be closed east from Middlebranch Avenue NE to Railway Avenue NE from 7 a.m. June 2 to 7 a.m. June 7, the township road department said. Contractors for Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway will be doing railway reconstruction.

Stark County Sheriff: Raychel Sheridan was murdered in her Plain Twp apt. Her body was found this morning by Canton sanitation workers in SW Canton. Sheridan's boyfriend Sean Goe who fled deputies Tuesday was found in a Canton homeless shelter by Canton PD, held on $500K bond.

Hartville income tax increase passes by 6 votes in Stark County Board of Elections official count. 681 for. 675 against. Law apparently requires recount.

Stark County Board of Elections certified Nov. 7 vote Tuesday. Pike Township road levy fails by 8 votes in final vote tally.
