    THE cost of redeveloping the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum, which is expected to be given the green light at a Council meeting tonight (Tuesday), is reported to be in excess of £70 million. It was previously reported the cost of developing the Enniskillen establishment would be around £57.4 million, but it’s now expected that the overall price of the new build has jumped significantly. A reported £20 million will be put forward from the UK Government’s ‘Levelling Up Fund’.

    A FERMANAGH has been jailed today for historic sex abuse of a child dating back to the 1980s. Gerard Augustine Quaile (60) from Creamery Close, Florencecourt faced seven counts of indecent assault, six of which related to one female child and the remainder to a second female child. Offending occurred between 1980 and 1985.

    AN emotional inquest into the death of a woman at the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) has heard powerful testimony from her mother, who has stated the true cause of her daughter’s death has never been determined. Tracy Antoinette Butler, 35, who was born with cerebral palsy, was non-verbal and had suffered a brain haemorrhage at birth, passed away on July 18, 2016, at South West Acute Hospital. “No post-mortem was ever carried out,” Marian Butler stated.
