Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has given the green light to the A32 Cornamuck Road Scheme, which will see significant improvements to the main Enniskillen to Omagh road. The 1.4 km scheme will provide an important improvement on the A32 which is the main road between Omagh and Enniskillen, via Irvinestown and Dromore. The upgrade will improve transport links between the two towns and users of the South West Acute Hospital.

A convicted sex-offender who downloaded 2500 images of children ranging from babies to teenagers has admitted the latest set of charges against him. William Mullan (43) from Rossorry Park, Enniskillen but remanded in custody since his arrest admitted breaching Sexual Offences Prevention Order by using an alias and having two mobile phones facilitating internet access which were not approved by his Designated Risk Manager.

HUNDREDS of mourners lined the streets of Enniskillen this morning (Wednesday) as the town came to a standstill to remember and pay tribute to the hugely respected and much-loved Michael Kerr. Members of the Enniskillen Rangers Football Club and clubs from across the Fermanagh and Western Football League formed an impeccable guard of honour outside St Michael’s Church in Enniskillen before and after the Requiem Mass of the much-loved father-of-three.

THE length of stay for older patients at the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) has doubled in the past five years, it has been revealed. Hospital campaign group Save Our Acute Services (SOAS) has uncovered figures regarding the average length of stay of patients in geriatric/care of the elderly services at the Enniskillen hospital has dramatically increased since 2020/21. The information was obtained as a result of a Freedom of Information (FoI) request by the campaign.

A CASE relating to an alleged cannabis factory is to be fast-tracked despite concerns the accused may have been a victim of human trafficking. Gytis Ramaskevicus (27) with an address of no fixed abode and currently remanded in custody, is possessing, cultivating and intending to supply cannabis as well as dishonest use of electricity. Offending is alleged to have occurred at Menapian Way, Enniskillen on February 27.
