A School Resource Officer at Captain Shreve High School got a disturbing tip from a staff member on Thursday. An assistant principal at the school got a tip from a student saying that someone on campus had a gun. The staff member took that information and immediately told Deputy Rivera, the SRO with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputy Rivera acted fast to find the 15 year-old student and detained them.

A Bossier Sherriff's Office Corrections Officer has been arrested and fired. Sentencing Of Gang Criminals In Sichuan ProvinceBSO announced yesterday that one of their corrections officers brought some kind of contraband in to the Bossier Parish Correctional Facility. After an investigation, it was determined that former corrections officer Colton Davis used his power as an officer to bring something he shouldn't have in to the facility.

This week 79 people were booked and kept at Caddo Correctional Center for various crimes. Two of those booked were brought in on gun charges. Over the weekend Shreveport Police were able to arrest 2 people for illegally having guns. SPD got a call to Sussex Avenue to reports of an armed person. When Police showed up a woman told them that her boyfriend, Vermont Powell had pulled a gun on her and threatened her. Powell is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have guns.

A man with an outstanding warrant loses a game of hide-and-seek with Shreveport Police. Shreveport Police Department via FacebookMarvin Morris had a warrant out for his arrest for being a felon in possession of a firearm stemming from an incident on Peach Street earlier this month. Police pulled up on Westwood Street to execute the warrant against Morris, but the "Jump Out Boys" were having trouble finding him. After searching for a while, an Officer, on a whim, decided to open the deep freezer.
