    Syracuse women’s basketball has landed an impressive name out of the transfer portal: former Texas and Michigan guard Laila Phelia. The report came out today on On3 Sports. The 6-foot senior averaged 16.8 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game with Michigan two seasons ago. She earned first-team All-Big Ten honors that year. This past season, she played eight games with Texas and then redshirted the season after suffering an injury. Out of high school, Phelia was ranked No. 28 nationally by ESPN.

    Several Central New York players heard their names called at the PLL Draft tonight and are headed to the pros. The first name called tonight? To no one's surprise, Cornell's CJ Kirst, otherwise known as the best player in the nation. Kirst is headed to the Philadelphia Waterdogs. As for Syracuse, four players were drafted this evening, including two in the opening round. Sam English was taken as the third overall pick of the night, followed by Owen Hiltz, who was drafted eighth.

    Syracuse Football landed its latest commit: a cornerback from Fran Brown's old stomping ground, Georgia. Chris Peal was formerly a cornerback for the Bulldogs. He announced his commitment to SU today. The 6'2", 195-pound cornerback was ranked as the 173rd best recruit in the class of 2023 according to 247 Sports. He redshirted his first season at Georgia. Last year, he played in four games last season, making one tackle. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
