CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - May 2025 was not one of the top-10 coolest Mays on record, and it was not one of the top-10 wettest on record...but it was cooler and wetter than normal...by quite a bit!The average temperature at Cleveland Hopkins last month was 57.9 degrees. That’s 3.3 degrees below normal. That may not seem very cold but when you look more deeply into the data, it’s clear that May did not live up to anyone’s expectations of a (traditionally, anyway) warmer month.

Tuesday and Wednesday will feature highs in the mid to upper 80s. Wednesday will be the hottest day out of the next 10. The 19 First Alert Weather Team is forecasting highs near 90 degrees Wednesday afternoon! The other big weather story at this time is the return of Canadian wildfire smoke.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Talk about an active and unsettled start to the weekend!Strong, precipitation-loaded thunderstorms have brought quite a bit of rainfall to some areas on this Saturday. As is often the case with Summertime thunderstorms, these have been quite scattered. While some areas have experienced drought-busting rain today, others have seen very little. Akron-Canton Airport: 4.22 inches of rain today. 4.17 inches of that was between 10:25 AM and 12:10 PM.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - While a few very isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon (and into the evening) most areas will remain rain-free until Thursday. Any thunderstorm that does develop will have the capacity to produce heavy rain and gusty winds. Tonight’s other big weather story will be the stifling humidity across northeast Ohio. Thunderstorm chances will increase Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
