Scott Road once again figures prominently on the annual list top crash sites in Delta. A new report from ICBC on 2024’s crash statistics for province reveals that for the City of Delta, Scott Road (120th Street) takes 11 of the top 27 crash locations, with the intersection of Scott Road at 72nd Avenue listed as the site having the third most crashes in Delta (122 crashes).

B.C.’s cannabis industry is facing disruptions from tariffs, at a time when the sector is already facing challenges. Supply chains, in the form of packaging materials and cultivation equipment, are the areas where tariffs are having the most impacts on cannabis producers, said DIG360 executive retail advisor Rick Bohonis in an email response. The cannabis product itself is not being impacted, as cannabis imports and exports between Canada and the U.S. are not allowed, he said.

West Vancouver police are searching for a missing man presumed drowned in Cypress Provincial Park. BC Emergency Health Services called first responders to Cabin Lake, a small lake on Black Mountain above the resort area’s ski runs, around 6:30 p.m. SundayAccording to police, the a 29-year-old Burnaby man had been swimming at the lake with his fiancée when he began to struggle.

The Delta School District values its French Immersion program and is pleased to welcome new students to the program on a regular basis. That’s the response from the Delta School District following concerns raised recently by parents of children attending Sunshine Hills Elementary, who claim a reduction of divisions will result in fewer students able to attend the program at that school.
