TikTok star inspires massive Rose Bowl donation site for fire victims

An unexpected outpouring of support for fire victims has turned the Rose Bowl into a massive donation site in Pasadena. It started as a TikTok personality’s hot dog stand Tuesday night but by Thursday there were many more vendors and hundreds, if not thousands, of volunteers helping @rocknrollfoodie in the Rose Bowl parking lot. “We came out here planning on feeding the survivors and victims of the fire and came out here with two hot dog carts.
Santa Monica club hosts cancer comedy nights benefitting American Cancer Society

Innocent woman wounded in shooting aboard Southern California public bus

California Highway Patrol officers are searching for a man who fired shots on a crowded public transit bus Monday evening, wounding an innocent woman, authorities said. The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. on a Foothill Express bus that was carrying around 20 people westbound on the 10 Freeway. A CHP spokesperson said two men aboard the bus got into “an altercation” when one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting as the bus was nearing Puente Avenue in Baldwin Park.

Mother of boys killed by Rebecca Grossman dismayed by light sentence

The mother of two boys hit and killed by Rebecca Grossman is expressing her disappointment in the socialite’s recent sentencing. On Monday, Grossman was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the hit-and-run murders of Jacob and Mark Iskander in 2020. Prosecutors had sought the maximum sentence, which was more than twice what she received. The surprising sentence reopened old wounds for the boys’ mother, Nancy Iskander. “It was the hardest day of the whole trial,” Iskander said.
