Local and federal investigators put in countless hours digging in a backyard in Ashtabula. It all started with a new lead in Donnell White Jr.’s case. Investigators dug up a yard on W. 38th Street over the last few days looking for evidence. The property was where Donnell’s grandmother used to live.

    ASHTABULA, Ohio (WOIO) - A law enforcement search is underway in the backyard of a house in Ashtabula connected to the case of a 14-year-old boy who vanished more than 30 years ago. Donnell White Jr. was last seen in Ashtabula in August 1991. On Wednesday, Ashtabula Police and U.S. Marshals searched for potential evidence behind the West 38th Street home where Donnell lived prior to his disappearance.

Clues led to not far from where he was found. This was Cuyahoga County’s most recent John Doe case until now.
