    Pupils at Yattendon C of E Primary School have raised £300 for the World Wide Fund for Nature, which is the school’s chosen charity of the year, writes Ace Beattie. A series of fundraising events have been planned throughout the year in support of WWF. The most recent activity was an animal-themed art exhibition and ‘Wear it Wild’ dress-up day for the children, building on the school’s commitment to the Eco School’s Award.

    Hundreds of lambs have already been born at a family farm in Stanford Dingley. It’s been all hands to the pump at the Breakspear family’s Mazelands Farm, as is usual for them as spring arrives. Keep scrolling down to enjoy all of the lovely photos sent into us from the farm by Becky Breakspear. So far they’ve had more than 200 lambs born and, with 300 ewes brought in to lamb, there’s still more new arrivals expected over the coming days.

    Newbury Building Society has been celebrating the 250th anniversary of the building society movement, writes Ace Beattie. The first known building society was set up in 1775 to held ordinary working people to own their homes and provide a place for their savings. Newbury Building Society (NBS) was set up in 1856 and continues to provide services, including help for people wanting to save and those wanting to buy their own homes.
