SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Even with all the rain we’ve had this month, there are still areas that are below average. Meteorologist Scot Mundt shows us who can still use the water. There were periods of rain in eastern KELOLAND throughout the day as temperatures remained below average. While we’ve been getting steadier rain for the second half of May, it still hasn’t been enough to bring some in KELOLAND to their climate average, but that’s not the case for everyone.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Remaining cool through the weekend and beyond. Rain will once again move through western and southwest South Dakota this morning. As the rain moves east, it will weaken with areas of eastern KELOLAND remaining dry. Highs will range from the 50s in western South Dakota to the middle 60s in northeast KELOLAND. The weather will be on repeat for tomorrow as scattered rain develops in western South Dakota and weakens as it moves east.

SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — Another cloudy and cool day for much of eastern KELOLAND today. While rain was not as widespread, there were still areas of light rain, not as heavy as what fell in northeast KELOLAND yesterday. But the rain totals over the past 6 days have surpassed what we’ve had during the first two weeks of the month. Pierre stands out with over an inch of rain during the first two weeks.

While we’ve been dealing with rain over the past several days, it will cool enough to bring in a couple of flakes of snow tonight. If it snows enough to measure…which is a tenth of an inch, it will be the latest measurable snow for some in KELOLAND.
