A warm and dry weather pattern is on the way for many in KELOLAND. It’s something I don’t see changing for a couple of weeks. With a lot of 60s this afternoon, Friday may end up being the coolest day for quite some time. Warmer temperatures will arrive this weekend and last into next week.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Dry today, light showers tomorrow. The storm system that gave parts of KELOLAND severe weather and heavy rain is now to our east. Behind it, we’ll have dry skies with highs in the 50s and 60s. Rapid City’s high will be 70. Wind will be light. Quiet conditions tonight with mostly clear skies and light wind. A weak front will move through tomorrow to bring a chance for light showers tomorrow. The best chance for the showers will be in western South Dakota.

Strong to severe storms with periods of heavy rain have moved through KELOLAND over the past 24 hours, and by the looks of things, weather like that may continue. After all, it is the middle of spring, so strong to severe weather is common in KELOLAND.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — We made up for missing rain earlier in the month. Meteorologist Scot Mundt has details on our rainfall. Much-needed rainfall occurred yesterday. Rain amounts averaged a half to a full inch in the southern half of KELOLAND with the heaviest falling south on Interstate 90 in south central South Dakota. There’s more rain on the way as we finish April next week. Departure from average for the month continues to show many locations are below average, BUT there are exceptions.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Some parts of KELOLAND had light showers today, but most locations stayed dry. There’s more widespread rain on the way for tomorrow, but a lot of it will fall for the southern half of KELOLAND. As air temperatures and dew point temperatures warm Sunday and Monday, we’ll have to watch for scattered storms. As of this morning, the best chance for severe weather will be Monday in eastern KELOLAND.
