In a three-minute meeting on Tuesday afternoon, the Rapid City Council certified the June 3 municipal election. The official results matched the unofficial results reported immediately after the election. Pat Roseland (Ward 5), Kevin Maher (Ward 3), John Roberts (Ward 4), Lindsey Seachris (Ward 2) and Lance Lehmann (Ward 4) were present for the canvass. Roseland abstained from the vote to certify the results in Ward 5, and Lehmann abstained from the vote to certify the Ward 4 election.

In the next few years, the residents can expect to see updates to several parks and sports fields, a new skatepark, a fenced-in dog park, in-stream recreation in Rapid Creek, street beautification on Fifth Street, renovations to an east side fire station, archive expansion at the Journey Museum, and cameras at intersections and public places. The price tags add up to $12,004,189, just north of the $12 million the council gave the committee to work with.
