    The Voy 61 Drive-In Theatre in Maquoketa is hosting a special movie event to celebrate Easter. The drive-in is showing “Hop” on Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th. The movie is rated PG. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for free photos and there will be an egg hunt for kids. The Voy 61 Drive-In Theatre is one of only four drive-ins still operating in Iowa and is known for its grass field that allows movie fans to bring a radio and lawn chair to watch the movie.

    A Quad City Arts grant is helping the Rock Island Public Library host three art exhibits at one of its branches this year. The library invites local artists to exhibit two-dimensional artwork in three shows this year at the Watts-Midtown Branch, 2715 30th Street. The shows are funded by a $5,000 grant from the Quad City Arts Dollars program. Shows run June 20 to July 31, August 15 through September 30 and October 17 through November 24.

    The Muscatine Fire Department (MFD) was busy yesterday after responding to two fires that afternoon. The Muscatine Joint Communications Center (MUSCOM) received several 911 calls on April 13 at about 2:46 p.m. reporting a structure fire in the 1900 block of Steward Road. Callers said the front porch of the building was on fire. MFD crews found the front porch of the home fully involved when they arrived.

    A Davenport man was arrested early on Sunday after police say he tried to kick down a door and threatened to kill the people inside. The criminal complaint says on April 13 at about 2:31 a.m., Davenport Police officers responded to the 500 block of S. Dittmer Street in fully marked squad cars about a disturbance. The defendant, identified as Spencer Rohm, 61, is accused of trying to kick open a door to a room that was rented by the victim. Rohm had no right, privilege or license to do so.
