Pakistan and India — nuclear-armed rivals sharing a border in a flashpoint region — are trading artillery fire and threats of retaliation as tensions escalate after a May 7 Indian attack. India said it launched missiles targeting "terrorist infrastructure" in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, the divided Himalayan territory that India also controls a section of. Pakistani officials said none of the six locations targeted in Pakistan were militant camps, according to Reuters.

WELLS, Maine — The debate over the Wells Police Department’s recent agreement to undergo ICE training turned heated at moments during the Select Board meeting on Tuesday. At one point, Select Board Chair John MacLeod III stopped public comment to remind everyone in the room to be civil and listen to one another. “Listen, we know this is a contentious issue, folks,” McLeod said.
