SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - An ambulance crashed into a DeSoto County hospital Wednesday morning, leading to one arrest, police confirm. The Southaven Police Department says the ambulance drove into Baptist DeSoto Hospital, in what they are calling an "isolated incident." The hospital told WREG in a statement that no patients were injured, but one staff member received minor injuries. A suspect is now in custody. A witness, Michael Price, claimed the ambulance was stolen, but police have not confirmed this.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — “He scared us to death.” Those are words from a witness who says he watched the man charged with five counts of attempted murder in a weekend shooting spree open fire on the interstate Saturday. “He was just there beside the car with the gun, hanging out the window on the driver’s side, he had the gun hanging out the window, and it was like ‘pow, pow, pow, pow!'” said Luellyn Polk.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Decades of deferred maintenance at more than 200 Memphis-Shelby County Schools total more than a billion dollars of major overhauls and replacements, reports from MSCS say. This comes after a top-to-bottom assessment by an outside consulting agency. The reports, thousands of pages of them, were just received by WREG on Tuesday. One of the buildings even listed to have major problems is MSCS district headquarters.

Everything seems to have started after his sister told police that Martinez was mad that she wouldn’t let him borrow her car.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Oak Court Mall, once a premier East Memphis shopping destination, will be demolished, and plans are being filed for a new development at 4465 Poplar. Josh Poag, who heads the group of investors who bought Oak Court Mall for $14.25 million in December of 2023, said he doesn’t know what will eventually be built at the mall site, or who would develop it. But one thing was certain — the mall will be gone. Poag said more detailed plans would be submitted Friday.
