MEMPHIS, Tenn. — “Heartbroken” is the way the life partner of a 52-year-old grandfather said she feels days after he was shot and killed while attending a candlelight vigil. Anthony Ford was one of five people shot on Saturday night as loved ones gathered to remember a woman in the Medical District. “He was a family man,” Kimberly Christian said. “An all-around great guy. A humble guy.”Christian spoke with WREG to describe the love she shared with Ford for two decades.

Inside the Shelby County Youth Justice and Education Center is a courtroom where no cameras were allowed inside. Still, WREG was there on Tuesday for the hearing of a 16-year-old boy charged with attempted first-degree murder. It’s a case that goes back to earlier this month.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — What was supposed to be an event to memorialize and honor a 38-year-old woman who had recently died quickly dissolved into chaos when someone started shooting into the crowd at a vigil last Saturday night. A woman spoke with WREG to recount the tragic events that transpired at a celebration held for her late sister, Alicia Stringfellow. “It’s pain on top of pain, and enough is enough,” said Sherea, Stringfellow’s sister, who asked us not to use her last name.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — This weekend marks one year since nine people were shot, with two dead, at a block party in Orange Mound. Memphis Police have a message in that case, saying while they don’t have new developments to share, the investigation remains active, and they are asking for the community’s continued help. Police say the violence erupted at a block party where hundreds of people were in attendance. There was not a permit for the party.
