Prosecutors in San Bernardino County are pursuing a murder charge against a serial car thief accused of leading deputies on a chase that ended in a crash that killed deputy Hector Cuevas Jr.Ryan Dwayne Turner Jr., 22, faces charges of murder, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, and vehicle theft. The pursuit took place in Victorville on Monday when, according to deputies, Turner Jr. refused to pull over when he was caught driving a vehicle that had been reported as stolen.

An alert resident in San Bernardino County called the sheriff’s department when they noticed a portable power supply device in their driveway. What deputies found was all too common these days: a hidden camera system installed by thieves. The resident of Canon Lane in Chino Hills made the discovery on Sunday, March 2. “A deputy searched the area around the home and discovered a concealed camera in a bush near the house,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

A $200 million proposal could transform the long-abandoned Riverside Golf Club in Riverside into the Riverside Adventure Center, a massive 126-acre sports complex featuring kayaking, surfing, climbing areas and more. The golf course, which has been closed since 2009, sits overgrown with brush, unkept trees, and broken fencing. However, under the new plan from developer Adrenaline Sports Resorts Collaborative, the property would be revitalized into an Olympic-quality, 85-acre adventure center.

Rebecca Grossman, the socialite convicted of striking and killing two boys while driving under the influence in Westlake Village in 2020, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison on Monday. Grossman, 60, was found guilty in February of two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and one count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death in connection with the collision that killed Jacob, 8, and Mark Iskander, 11, on Sept. 29, 2020.
