    JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The investigation continues into an officer-involved shooting that happened outside of a Johnston gas station over the weekend. Officers were called to the Shell at the intersection of Hartford and Atwood avenues late Saturday night after a caller claimed a man and woman were arguing in the parking lot. The officers pulled up and immediately spotted the man, later identified as Damian Peterson, sitting alone in the driver's seat of his parked vehicle.

Damian Peterson, 28, has been charged with assault and battery, assaulting an officer, reckless driving, obstructing an officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Vanson Leathers, known for their motorcycle jackets, told 12 News that since a lot of their sales are internationally based, they may need to change how they do business if the tariffs continue.     FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) - Fall River is still in need of a new police chief after the city council voted 5-4 to reject interim Chief Kelly Furtado as permanent head of the department. Furtado was appointed by Mayor Paul Coogan last fall after former Chief Paul Gauvin stepped down amid mounting criticism internally. He was later fired. Police officers filled the city council chamber during Tuesday night's meeting to show their support for Furtado.
