FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – This weekend is the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory’s annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale. This giant, mostly volunteer effort started in 1986, spearheaded by a newer volunteer. Thirty-nine years later and at 97 years young, Louise Rennecker is still mostly running the show. It’s what makes her Positively Fort Wayne. Never missing an opportunity to appreciate the beauty, Louise Rennecker is helping prep for the Botanical Conservatory’s annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department is investigating an apartment fire that sent one person to the hospital. The fire broke out around 1 a.m. Friday morning. Fire crews responded to the 7000 block of Thamesford Drive. That’s in the Communities of Chadwick neighborhood off of Maplecrest Road. When fire crews arrived, they found an apartment with heavy flames coming from an upstairs bedroom.

The country has made progress for those with disabilities, but there’s still a lot to be done, which is why a program like the adaptive soccer league at the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is Positively Fort Wayne. The sight is the same. A parent is on the sidelines of a weekend morning cheering on their kiddo playing youth sports.
