The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and World Para Sports have announced they are seeking partners to take over governance of Para athletics, Para swimming, or both. These organizations first called for Expressions of Interest (ROI) in 2021, which began the transfer of governance process. This was followed by a period of exclusive negotiations with the City of Manchester and UK Sport. Notably, Manchester played host to the 2023 Para Swimming World Championships.

USA Swimming released the finalized roster for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships on Sunday, following the conclusion of the 2025 U.S. National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Despite some confusion and missing names when the roster was first projected at IU Natatorium at the end of the last finals session, this list of names is similar to our projected version from Saturday night. That means that 21 women and 26 men will represent the U.S. at the World Championships in Singapore.

One of the pools that Michael Phelps trained in growing up now bears his name – the PADONIA Swim Club announced last week the formerly-named Olympia Pool will now be known as the Phelps Legacy pool. PADONIA’s athletic complex is in Cockeysville, Md., about 30 minutes from Baltimore, where Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, and his sisters, Whitney and Hillary, grew up.
