CANADA (KEYC) - Stacy and her fellow travelers are living their best lives at The Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia. On this trip, I know Butchart Gardens would be a highlight. The weather is enchanting with a light drizzle. And this is the Japanese garden, truly something to see! You rub the snout of The Butchart Boar for luck. This statue is dedicated to the kids and animals who visit the gardens. It’s truly lucky to be here and see all the beauty. It almost hurts your eyes.

CANADA (KEYC) - Stacy and her fellow travelers on the Holiday Vacations trip to Canada are enjoying a bucket list item: taking the VIA Rail Canadian train. Welcome aboard! This train has a lot to offer. It’s a tight space, perfect for the adventurer. We’re traveling in what’s called a sleeper plus car. We’re traveling from Edmonton to Vancouver.

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The man who killed two men, including a North Mankato native in the fall of 2022, is sentenced to 39 years in prison. Joseph Sandoval II killed the two inside a sober house in St. Paul: Jon Wentz, a man looking to turn his life around, and Jason Murphy, who had stayed there before. Murphy had come back to help those who had helped him. He was fixing plumbing in the basement when he was killed.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - No one was hurt in a house fire downtown Mankato Tuesday afternoon. It happened just before noon on the 100 block of North Broad Street. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the second floor. According to Mankato Public Safety, two people and their dog were able to get out of the house before first responders arrived. Crews were able to get inside and put out the fire. Damages are estimated at $30,000. The cause is under investigation.
