A stand, a gym, a clubhouse, 12 dressing rooms and indoor and outdoor astro turf facilities are part of Portlaoise GAA’s development project, which are to be progressed to the official planning stages this week. The major multi-million euro project will be a loving and lasting legacy to club members Eoin and Dylan Fitzpatrick, who lost their lives tragically in a road traffic accident in the summer of 2023.

The league football competitions are well and truly underway in Laois with most approaching the half-way stage of the group sections. Here we publish how the clubs have graded their players, a system in Laois that dictates what level players can (or can’t) play at. For the past couple of years, clubs only need to list 15 players before the league. Previously it was 17. These 15 can only play with the club’s first team. Anyone not on it can play with their second team.
