SOMERSET COUNTY, MD - Upcoming mosquito control treatments have been announced for Somerset County. According to Somerset County officials, the treatments will begin on the evening of Monday, June 9th during the evening hours, weather conditions permitting. The following communities and areas are set to receive aerial spraying services: Champ, Chance, Dames Quarter, Deal Island, Oriole, St. Stephens and Wenona. Around 6,978 acres will be treated, officials say.

BERLIN, Md. - Don’t miss the chance to "hook" some fun. Assateague State Park will be holding their annual Youth Fishing Derby in June. The annual Youth Fishing Derby will be on Saturday, June 7. Derby 10 a.m.-noon, prizes 12 p.m.-1 p.m. Registration is on the north end of day-use parking lot. Officials say to park in the day-use lot and look for the registration tent. Participation is open to children 16 and under and the event is free for all.

Millsboro, Del. - The Town of Millsboro’s Concerts in the Park will begin June 3. and will continue with eight free evening concerts at Cupola Park, running through Aug.19. Each concert is taking place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The schedule includes a variety of bands, including Funktown, Honey Badgers, Blind Wind, Smooth Sound Big Band, The Funsters, Glass Onion, and more. Everyone is encouraged to bring a chair for comfortable seating during the concerts.

BETHANY BEACH, Del. - On May 6, Bethany Beach Police responded to a home on Evans Avenue after an Airbnb owner reported a guest punching holes in the walls. Officers had been called to the same address the night before for a loud party. Officers say a 21-year-old female from Laurel, Nijae Harris, came to the residence and threatened to stab other guests with a knife. That was in addition to cutting the clothes of guests with a pair of scissors.
