A new hearing care clinic opening in a Suffolk village next month aims to help patients struggling to access NHS earwax removal services. The clinic in Woolpit will be the fifth All About Hearing clinic in the county and will be located at Woolpit Clinics, on the Brickfields Business Park. Mother and Son, Karen Finch and Matthew Coward, who live in Suffolk, currently run All About Hearing Clinics in Woodbridge, Framlingham and two in Ipswich.

New data has revealed that patients treated by hospitals in Suffolk and Essex have been paid £13m in misdiagnosis claims since 2019. East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT), which runs Ipswich Hospital and Colchester Hospital, had 67 claims made against it during this period, 45 of which have been settled. Figures obtained through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request showed the trust paid more than £12 in damages between 2019 and 2024.

A midwife has spoken of the moment she was reunited with a millennium baby when she delivered her daughter 25 years on. Margaret, who works at Ipswich Hospital, said in the lead up to the year 2000 there was panic about the impact about the millennium bug. The number of redundancies at a Suffolk NHS trust last year has been revealed as it continues to take ‘difficult actions to improve its financial position’. A Freedom of Information (FOI) request, submitted by SuffolkNews, shows there were a total of 14 redundancies at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (WSFT) in 2024. The departments affected were the staff psychology service, clinical helpline, emergency preparedness resilience and response (EPRR) and business and information.

A charity worker who previously experienced homelessness and severe mental health issues yesterday attended a Royal Garden Party. Callum Sharpe, 24, of Kentford, near Newmarket attended the party, which was hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, following support from charity Action for Children. The charity worker was helped by the charity’s Amaryllis Housing Scheme, a supported housing project for young homeless people in West Suffolk.
