A new hearing care clinic opening in a Suffolk village next month aims to help patients struggling to access NHS earwax removal services. The clinic in Woolpit will be the fifth All About Hearing clinic in the county and will be located at Woolpit Clinics, on the Brickfields Business Park. Mother and Son, Karen Finch and Matthew Coward, who live in Suffolk, currently run All About Hearing Clinics in Woodbridge, Framlingham and two in Ipswich.

New data has revealed that patients treated by hospitals in Suffolk and Essex have been paid £13m in misdiagnosis claims since 2019. East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT), which runs Ipswich Hospital and Colchester Hospital, had 67 claims made against it during this period, 45 of which have been settled. Figures obtained through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request showed the trust paid more than £12 in damages between 2019 and 2024.

Called The Space, the project was launched by Culford School, an independent school near Bury St Edmunds, for its Lower Sixth boys. The weekly, staff-facilitated forum is a space where there can openly discuss identity, stress and relationships in small, confidential circles.

A barber from Bury St Edmunds is top of the teaching crops after winning a national award. Ryan Hathaway, 29, who owns Hathaway & Co based in the West Suffolk village of Timworth, was crowned Individual Outstanding Lecturer of The Year at the annual Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) learning and development awards.

They were dismissed for 257 in reply to the visitors’ 292 all out in their Group 2 game at Sudbury.
