The charges include first-degree arson, second-degree home invasion, breaking and entering a building with intent and two counts of breaking and entering a vehicle with damage to the vehicle. FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - Residents in Flint's 5th Ward woke up to find two buildings destroyed without warning. The former D and H Market and Swanson Funeral Home at the corners of Hamilton and Martin Luther King Avenue were both damaged overnight, leaving the community questioning who is responsible and why it happened. "Walked straight down the street and I said 'man what?' Going to the Dayton Ave. store and I said 'naw, who did this?'" said a 5th Ward resident who preferred to remain anonymous.

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - Chicago activist Jedidiah Brown is leading protests in Flint, calling for change and transparency in local government. Brown recently organized demonstrations, including a symbolic procession with a white casket in front of Mayor Sheldon Neeley's home and a rally at City Hall on Sunday. Some protesters had their cars towed and were seen being removed from vehicles. "They have arrested protesters. They have towed protesters vehicles. They have brutalized people," Brown said.

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - Flint City Council is racing against the clock to finalize a budget before tonight's deadline. Councilwoman Tonya Burns from the 6th Ward said, "So we're required by the Flint City Charter to pass a balanced budget by the first week of June."Burns expressed concerns that the mayor's office proposed an unbalanced budget. "As it stands, we have taken in $64 million but we have spent $68 million and so, we're going to have to make some tough decisions," Burns said.

PINCONNING, Mich. (WJRT) - Pinconning High School is mourning the loss of Aiden Alexander, a recent graduate, who died in a car crash Thursday. Alexander graduated May 18th. Bay County Sheriff Troy Cunningham said a man driving a GMC Sierra pickup crossed the center line on Mable Street, crashing head-on into Alexander's Jeep. "Aiden was just a great student. Great person. Lot of good friends. Always smiling in the hallways," Pinconning Area School District Superintendent Andy Kowalczyk said.
