    Funding of €500,000 in support of the Irish game development industry has been announced at the FÍS Games Summit in Galway. The money will be used towards a number of initiatives launched by Screen Ireland's Digital Games Portfolio. This will be managed by Galway based screen talent development organisation, Árdan and Imirt - the national organisation representing game developers and creators in Ireland. CEO of Árdan Alan Duggan said the first initiative that will be launching is IndieDev 2025.

    One of Galway's best known hurling clubs has been fielding an innovative youth programme, nurturing up and coming young hurlers and camogie players. Castlegar GAA are previous All-Ireland Senior Club Championship winners and they have unveiled an ambitious plan to be back at the "top table". They are starting early by investing time and resources into their nursery programme using novel training methods with the emphasis on fun.

Staff at UHL and the HSE have apologised unreservedly to the family of Michael Cuddihy and admitted failings in his care.     The Cúirt International Festival of Literature is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a look back through the archives as well as showcasing current and emerging new talent. The festival opened last night, with readings from Pulitzer Prize winning poet Paul Muldoon and author Sally Rooney, who has been described as "the voice of a generation". She has written four novels, her most recent being Intermezzo.
