Starting with a love of sports and teaching, The City of Milford got lucky in 1976 when Jack Simon received a position teaching Driver Education for the high school. With it, Milford got an educator and coach with enthusiasm, heart, character and integrity. Since that time, with a few breaks in between, Simon has been the heart and soul of Milford football and other sports.

    Milford Planning Commission voted December 17 to recommend two different ordinances to city council related to retail marijuana retail locations. The recommendation places the decision in the hands of city council. “The first option basically excludes marijuana retail stores in the city but allows medical compassion centers, including sales, manufacturing and cultivation,” City Planner Rob Pierce said.

    City Planner Rob Pierce, at the request of Milford City Council, recently presented a draft ordinance for their review to address habitual repeat offenders related to code violations. Pierce and his staff created the draft ordinance using research conducted among other municipalities. “First, we would need to identify what a habitual repeat offender is,” Pierce said.
