    Students and alum at the University of Delaware held a protest in support of international students at the school who recently had their visas revoked. News surfaced on April 10, 2025, that eight of the school's international students had their visas revoked by the federal government. The school currently has a few thousand international students. The university - based in Newark, Delaware - joined a growing list of schools across the country with international students with cancelled visas.

    As avian influenza, also known as bird flu or avian flu, continues to strike Delaware, many farmers have been forced to "depopulate" their chickens. Georgie Cartanza, a chicken farmer and the poultry Extension Agent for the University of Delaware's Cooperative Extension program, shared with NBC10 that chickens had to be put down at her farm, and now the farm is under strict quarantine after being hit by the flu.
