As expected, the 2025-2026 Western Hockey League schedule will see the Rockets and expansion Penticton Vees face off eight times during the regular season. The eight meetings with their nearest geographical rival is in contrast to previous years when the Blazers were the most common opponent over the course of the season. In fact, the Rockets and Blazers won’t meet until the calendar flips to 2026.

- | Story: 557794The Kelowna Rockets will pick at the top of the CHL import draft for the first time in franchise history. The Rockets secured the Number 1 overall pick Monday in a deal with the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Rockets sent the Warriors their second round import pick along with a 2026 first round and 2027 third round pick in the WHL prospects draft. With the deal, the Rockets now hold the first, seventh and 132nd overall selections.

The Kamloops Blazers will open their 2025-26 WHL regular season at home in September against the Spokane Chiefs. The blue and orange capped off last season with a 24-39-4-1 record with 53 points, good for 10th in the WHL's Western Conference — just ahead of just the Kelowna Rockets and 12 points out of a playoff spot. Spokane placed third in the conference last season and had the Blazers’ number, going 4-1 in five regular season games.

In fact, the median time spent per visit in a B.C. emergency room last year, four hours and 13 minutes, is an increase of 14 minutes over 2023, by far the biggest jump in the country.

The City of Kelowna is expanding its venue ticketing service to include multiple arts, sports and entertainment venues across the city. In a news release, the city says theboxoffice.ca has been launched as a way of making buying and selling tickets easier and more efficient for event producers and patrons. Ticketing will be available for a variety of events at a variety of venues.
