SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Earth Day doesn’t end when the clock strikes midnight. The City of Sioux Falls will host its annual Big Sioux River Cleanup on Saturday. “We’re just asking for volunteers to come and help us to pick up trash and keep the river clean,” Environmental Services Manager Josh Peterson said. He says the cleanup will include seven locations along the recreation trail.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A number of local artists spent the morning talking shop at a coffeehouse in Sioux Falls. Tucked away in the corner of Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Cafe is a meeting of the Great Plains Watercolor Society. “You can do just a little bit to a drawing and add a lot or you can make it entirely a full watercolor with nothing else,” local artist Gary Pederson said.

The hillside is starting to turn green as the last of the snow melts at Great Bear Ski Valley, where Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation is set to host its annual Earth Day Festival. “It’s a great opportunity for everyone in the community to come out and celebrate Earth Day with us,” Recreation Program Coordinator Eric Saathoff said.
