CLEVELAND — Crews were hard at work late Tuesday night battling a fire at the Brost Foundry Company on East 55th Street in Cleveland. The building, located in the historic North Broadway area of Broadway-Slavic Village, caught fire no later than 10 p.m. The flames appeared to be under control by 11 p.m., but there was no word on injuries or what damage the foundry may have suffered.

CLEVELAND — As a heat wave belts Northeast Ohio, a number of storms have started to pop up in the area, with several counties currently under a severe thunderstorm warning until 10:30 p.m. The alert impacts northeastern Ashland, south central Lorain, southern Medina, and northwestern Wayne counties. The National Weather Service says a thunderstorm was located over Lodi around 10:04 p.m. moving east at 25 mph.

Officials say the victim, a male, drowned in the lake near the park's public beach. The circumstances that led to his disappearance are not known at this time, but crews describe the search for him as "a recovery effort." This would be the second fatal drowning at Portage Lakes State Park within the last week.

CLEVELAND — This past week, the Cleveland Guardians finished their West Coast road trip with a 4-2 record, taking two of three each from the San Francisco Giants and Athletics. That's good. Very good. In fact, it's the first time since early May that the team has won back-to-back series.
