    HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — The death of West York Police Officer Andrew Duarte, isn't the first time a case of friendly fire has taken the life of a Central PA hero. Deputy U.S. Marshal Christopher Hill was shot and killed in 2018 while serving an arrest warrant in Harrisburg. Investigators say Deputy Marshal Hill was part of a task force that was called to a home on Mulberry Street in January 2018 to arrest Shayla Pierce.

    The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) says progress is being made in containing two wildfires at Michaux State Forest in Cumberland County. In a Saturday night update officials said all outward growth of the fires is being held in check. Officials said the Thompson Hollow Fire, which has been burning for several days, is 33% contained as of 9:00 p.m. Saturday. The Hammonds Rock Fire is 41% contained.

    HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — Alarms inside the Governor’s Residence sounded multiple times in the hours leading up to the arson on April 12, a source tells CBS 21 News. An independent review of Pennsylvania State Police security was launched in the days following the firebombing, and a source close to that review is providing new details to CBS 21. The source said multiple false alarms were triggered at the Governor’s Residence throughout the night.

    HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — Suspended Dauphin County Magisterial District Judge Sonya McKnight's trial is scheduled to start on Monday. The jury was being brought to Dauphin County from Delaware County, and is expected to cost taxpayers around $20,000. According to Stephen Libhart, Court Administrator for the 12th Judicial District of Pennsylvania, for an estimated five day trial, he accounted for $18,562 for just the jury in this case.

    LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Associated Press has called the 36th Pennsylvania Senate District special election for Democrat James Malone, who won by just under 500 votes. Malone is the mayor of East Petersburg, and fills the seat vacated by Ryan Aument who left the position to join U.S. Senator Dave McCormick's office.
