BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - Two years to the day since a mom and her toddler were last seen in South Carolina, a man charged in connection with their disappearance stood before a judge. This case is out of Sumter, but the woman, Sophia Van Dam and her two-year-old son Matteo, were about to move back to Beaufort to be closer to family in our area. They haven’t been seen since June of 2023. Jonas Washington is the man law enforcement think is responsible for these two still being missing.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A military veteran in our community took on a new hobby a few years ago that changed her life. RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (WTOC) - A member of our WTOC team was scrolling on social media, when they found something they had never seen before... an apparent free flying Macaw parrot in Richmond Hill. The comments claimed it lived with a local family and always flew back home after soaring around the neighborhood. To get to the bottom of this, we went on a very VERY serious search for Coco the parrot.
