EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- In her first "Neighborhood Walk" of the new year, Val Warner continued her "ABC7 Chicago takeover" of the segment, as she was joined by veteran WLS-TV anchor/reporter Karen Jordan. Jordan, who has been with ABC7 for the past 22 years, gave Warner a tour of Evanston, where she has lived for much of her life. Evanston is one of the Chicago area's most notable suburbs. It is home to one of the world's great research institutions, Northwestern University.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- This November, Val Warner has been dedicating her "Our Chicago: Neighborhood Walk" series to her ABC 7 Chicago colleagues. Val calls it "The ABC 7 Takeover" of "Neighborhood Walk."In this segment, she visits ABC 7 meteorologist Greg Dutra to take a tour of his adopted hometown, Naperville. This massive, prosperous western suburb, 28 miles southwest of Chicago, has been growing steadily since the 1960s.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chatham is one of Chicago's most historic neighborhoods. The community, located on the city's Southeast Side, has been home to one of Chicago's most prominent middle-class African American communities since the late 1950s. It was considered a Black mecca for businesses. At one time, Chatham was home to multi-million dollar Black-owned businesses like the Johnson Products Company and Seaway National Bank.
