Waithaka was visiting from Kenya for a family member's graduation, when he went missing. The Calera Police Department is continuing to follow up on any tips in hopes of finding him safe and reuniting him with his family. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — A Birmingham woman is expressing relief after a dangerous tree next door was finally cut down Wednesday, following years of concern and damage to her property. Connie Lang, who has been raising concerns about the tree since 2019, said falling limbs had previously damaged her garage and, more recently, her car. Alabama Power contractors were seen cutting down the tree Wednesday afternoon, marking significant progress in addressing the issue.
