WESTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) - Bar Louie at Crocker Park abruptly shut down two weeks ago. “We were surprised on that one,” said Stacie Schmidt, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Stark Enterprises, owner of Crocker Park. “We’ll take it in stride,” she said. “We’re excited to actually find some good new suiters for that location that people will be really excited about.”Hot Chicken Takeover also recently closed its Crocker Park location.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - Shaker Heights Public Library reopened Saturday morning just days after a deadly shooting that left a teenager dead. According to a post on Facebook, community members came together for the reopening with kindness and even flowers or hot chocolate. On Thursday, Shaker Heights High School reopened with grief counsellors on hand, after closing for a day in the wake of the tragedy. Students knew the deadly shooting would be on the minds of everyone.

CLEVELAND (WOIO/Gray News) - A Cleveland brewery says it is banning kids under 16 due to safety concerns and customer complaints. Forest City Brewery welcomes beer drinkers, music lovers, sports fans – almost everyone – but owner Jay Demagall says now, one sort of person won’t be welcomed: kids. “This place is equipped to be a beer garden, not necessarily a playground,” Demagall told WOIO. The bar will be open to those 16 and over only due to safety concerns and customer complaints.

Mentor High School Athletic Director Jeff Cassella said it’s “$200 for the first sport and it’s $50 for each sport after that at the high school level” for his district. Mentor enacted its Pay for Play policy about 20 years ago. In Twinsburg, which has had Pay to Participate since a budget tightening in 2012, the district calculates it differently.
