COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOIO) - State lawmakers want to make it tougher on thieves who steal catalytic converters. A new bill gets debated in a house committee, the bill increasing penalties on theft and making it harder to sell the stolen exhaust cleaning cylinders. “We know that there’s a scourge of catalytic converter thefts,” says the bill’s sponsor, Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) who represents House District 31.
