The Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provides Wisconsin State ID cards that can be used for voting -- so long as the person trying to get one has a few pieces of paperwork.

    MADISON (WKOW) -- A DoorDash driver convicted of killing a pedestrian was sentenced Friday, according to Dane County court records. Janessa Cardenas, 27, was convicted of second-degree reckless homicide and homicide by use of a vehicle - use of controlled substance in December 2022. In court, she was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison, with her sentences running concurrently. Her prison term will be followed by five years extended supervision.

    EVANSVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- Rock County authorities gave updates Friday afternoon after two tornadoes tore through the area Thursday night. The two February tornadoes were the first ones in Wisconsin in recorded history. At a press conference in Evansville, Sheriff Curt Fell said it was "almost a miracle" that only one person was taken to the hospital for injuries. He said the person was in their vehicle at the time and pushed off the road.

    EVANSVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- Rock County authorities will be giving updates to Evansville residents Friday afternoon and evening after a tornado tore through the area Thursday night. A press conference will be held at 3 p.m. at the Evansville ACE Hardware on 755 Brown School Road. At 5 p.m., there will be a Porter Townhall Meeting at Evansville Fire District on 425 Water Street,The Rock County Sheriff's Office states that there has been a significant number of offers for help and donations.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection recommends property owners be skeptical of door-to-door repair crews who use aggressive, high-pressure sales tactics to get you into a contract. DATCP states no matter the time of year, these transient contractors will try to find people in need.
